sprite-tsc  About the Thames Salsa Cruise

Treat yourself to a perfect Sunday evening enjoying salsa as we cruise the great river Thames.
Since 1998 The Thames Salsa Cruise has danced along the river.
It’s fun, quirky, relaxed with a maybe a little frisson as you meet new friends. You’ll be dancing, sightseeing, chilling, chatting and laughing all the way.
The atmosphere buzzy like a salsa house party where everyone’s mixing and mingling.
A fresh new salsa experience for some, and a much loved regular event for many.
You’ll remember the Thames Salsa Cruise for ever.

Leaving Festival Pier on London’s South Bank, we cruise for four hours, up to the Houses of Parliament then down river towards the O2 Dome and the Thames Barrier. So many things to see so being a camera.
We’ll be back in time to get home ready for an early start the next day.
The dance deck awaits with DJ Felicidad playing a cocktail of classic salsa with a dash of your favourite other genres.
The cruises tend to sell out so please book early!

Salsa Rapido® method uses humour and popular psychology to speed your learning, making it a fast, fun alternative approach to learning salsa. It’s aim is to get you up to ‘club competence’ and beyond as soon as possible, while helping you to avoid many of the bad habits and pitfalls.
Salsa Rapido method works for all regional styles of salsa, enabling you to dance with anyone from anywhere.

For Beginners:
  • Salsa Rapido is simply the fastest and most fun way into salsa, so let’s get dancing.
  • There’s no slog and no stress just easy core moves and clear explanation.
  • We’ll pinpoint the skills of leading, following, looking good and having fun on the dance floor.
  • I’ll introduce you to the seven rules that make salsa a lot less complicated.
  • You’ll gain a clear insight into where style and your confidence comes from, why things go wrong and a practical approach to going from clunky to mastery.

For Improvers and above:

  • A series of unique Salsa Rapido concepts and exercises that help develop your dancing and dance experience.
  • Understanding your journey from beginner to advanced dancer
  • Building rapport with your partner.
  • Musical interpretation, easy ways to connect to the music.
  • Event based vs choreography based moves.
  • Remembering moves and processing moves from the internet.
  • Finding your flow and creativity.

I can’t remember how many times I’ve been asked for Intermediate levels intensive courses and so I’ve organised one.
The NEW 'Deep Salsa for Intermediates' Salsa Rapido Intensive course.

This course is not and bunch of moves, styling or footwork. It’s for dancers who are looking to energise their salsa through looking at things in a different way. It uses models and exercises that you may not be familiar with, but they allow you to discover the underlying psychology and ways to change the way you dance if necessary.

Salsa Rapido® Method:
The ethos of Salsa Rapido is the same at all levels. It’s the Fast, Fun and Progressive approach to salsa. In other words I want to get you better faster, while having a heap of fun. If you think teaching should be a dry, boring or an authoritarian experience, be warned you’ll hate this! It's fun and challenging.

Are you intermediate?
My definition of an intermediate is someone who regularly dances freestyle salsa.
I’m the first to admit that’s a wide group of levels but I’m working on the basis that those who dance in clubs should know enough to lead/ follow and can operate at ‘club speed’. Improvers can handle the info but struggle to implement things as fast simply because they haven't had enough ‘real time’ dance floor experience.
If you’re not sure call me 07939012231

"I believe most people aspire to a smoother style where dancers seamless shift from one move to the next in complete balance with each other and the music."
This course aims to:
• Polish your salsa leading and following skills and develop true free styling (as opposed to choreographed salsa)
• Take your salsa style somewhere new and different so you gain an objective view of where you want to go with your salsa style
• Deliberately take the genre of Salsa somewhere new and exciting.
