sprite-tsc  About the Thames Salsa Cruise

On Sunday 29th July, join us as we will celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Thames Salsa Cruise! Yes, that’s right, we’ve been running the Thames Salsa Cruise for a whopping 20 whole years this summer! Two decades of dancing on the decks of MV Royalty, up and down the River to the music of DJ Felicidad and partying all the way and what fun it’s been :-) The Thames, the skyline and faces have changed but the boat, the fun, and the energy is better than ever so if you’re new to this event or want to revisit it, we would love you to come and share this fabulous moment with us!

Come and salsa the River as we cruise from the Festival Pier Southbank to the Barrier and back. Watch the sunset as you sip a drink on the back deck, then see the River sparkle as the city lights up; all the while listening to some great salsa music to entice you back to the dance floor.
Four hours of dancing and fun; what a great way to spend a summer evening!
Departs Festival Pier by the Royal Festival Hall, Southbank at 6.45pm, returning at 10.50pm

Get your ticket early because we will probably sell out!
Groups (5+) cost £15 and the regular advanced price is £18. (£22 cash on the day)

i2i Big Combos Flavour 11.30-5pm at bar Salsa Soho!

Salsa moves are often presented as big combinations or combos. From You Tube clips to salsa classes at salsa congresses and weekenders, big combos are the standard packagings of repertoire.

How to survive Big Combo style classes.

i2i Musical interpretation salsa course at bar Salsa Soho!
Musical interpretation in salsa is a wide field. The aim is to interact with the music so that the dance finds a greater meaning.
In short if you interact with the music you'll feel better and have more fun! It's your best friend when you work with it and your worst enemy if you choose to ignore it.
There will be loads of salsa moves and combos to try but each exercise will highlight a point about the music.
So here's a brief outline of what's covered:

The course covers:
Salsa Timing how to get it and keep it.
Salsa Music the never ending debate - Historical time line
Salsa club sub genres (bachata, merengue, cumbia, son, etc...)
The instruments of a typical salsa band and their rhythmic contribution
The Salsa Rapido framework for musical interpretation ( how to use the music)
Please note:
This course wont be a bunch of Dos and Dont's, Interpretation is a personal decision and this course helps you to make it.

sprite-news News:

I've been busy creating online video content for the Salsa Rapido method.
It will eventually consist of several playlists covering 'Salsa Rapido Concepts', 'How to' and 'Exercises'
I've started with the Concepts as they're the hardest to script.
What I need is a bunch of subscribers to the Salsa Rapido YouTube channel who can email feedback on what they found useful or confusing, etc.
The channel isn't public yet as I'm still in beta mode but here's the link:
Salsa Rapido Channel.
Note click on the 'Concepts' playlist tab.
Here's my recent review of a Bar + Block Kings Cross – Simply Great Steak

Within earshot of the buzz emanating from bustling Kings Cross station, on York Road, is Bar + Block. The buzz continues inside, as if London’s tourists, shopper and business types have paused for a moment for a drink and a chat at the bar before stepping back into the hussel and bussel of their lives.
We’re seated in the restaurant section behind the bar
